Stasis

Stasis is a naturrum located in Limhamns kalkbrott, a landscape shaped by extraction, time, and transformation. This project explores the contrast between stability and instability through architecture that appears fragile and unbalanced within the dramatic quarry environment.

Although the structure stands still, its form creates a feeling of tension and uncertainty, reflecting the unstable relationship between humans, nature, and the changing climate. A lightweight steel frame carries vertical wood panelling and horizontal planks over insulated walls — XPS foam and sheathing board — closed by an 80 mm concrete shell.
